Will MJHS be annexed into City?
[The Wilson County Board of Education has passed a resolution asking the City of Mt. Juliet to annex the new Mt. Juliet High School. Commissioner Ray Justice is opposed, “I don’t know what value it adds to the people of Mt. Juliet. It takes away from valuable resources offered to the people here, including our police officers, public works. It means we’ll have to start taking care of the school property as well.”

Elam tosses in hat for re-election
[“I have every intention of running and hopefully will be able to represent the people of Mt. Juliet for another term.”]

Petition to park where you want 1-5 a.m.
[This is the store about Monday night’s Commission meeting
local home owners associations may petition to have their streets exempted from the ordinance prohibiting parking on city streets from 1am to 5am
the commission also voted to donate $100k to the RTA to fund commuter rail, if Lebanon & Wilson Co. do likewise
a resolution to purchase the Hamilton Racing facility on Industrial Dr. was deferred because the sponsor, Mayor Elam, was absent from the meeting]
