Reitz to sue City for wrongful termination
inside headline: City to be sued for wrongful termination – again
First Franklin, now Reitz
[Ms. Reitz was terminated from her position as stormwater clerk last Friday by Public Works Director Marlin Keel. The City Manager is quoted in the story as saying the firing was due to "failure to adequately perform assigned job duties." Ms. Reitz claims the firing was in retaliation for her having filed an EEOC complaint and a sexual harassment complaint in April of 2007. In the story Ms. Reitz complains that she had requested that her original complaint be anonymous, but instead it was widely circulated and even posted on radiofreemj.wordpress.com. For those just joining the party, Kathy Reitz is a friend and protegé of Mayor Linda Elam, who appointed her to the Planning Commission, recommended her for the stormwater clerk's job at public works, and (according to John Reitz) helped her draft her sexual harassment complaint against former Public Works Director Hatton Wright.]
$100 million office park could locate in MJ
[Pannatoni buys 125 acres close to the Beckwith interchange. I guess now we know why the first 2900 feet of road is being built.]
MJ 2008 Special Census breaks record
[the count now stands at 22,400 - with 11 days left to go. This is up from 20,392 in the 2006 Special Census, and increase of 9.85% in 2 years]

The Mayor has the authority to appoint 8 of the 9 Planning Commission members. The City Commission appoints the other member (Ed Hagerty).
Ed may have asked Mayor Elam to appoint Kathy Reitz but he could not appoint her. Mayor Elam appointed Kathy Reitz to the Planning Commission.

Welcome first time visitors to Radiofreemj.wordpress.com. I invite you to browse around all of the posts and get a real feel for what is happening in your town. I have recently been made aware of some information that will begin to tie the pieces of the stories on here together. Right now it kinda looks like a puzzle that has only partially been put together, you can see that there is an ugly picture, but you can’t see exactly what it is a picture of. Soon, the whole picture will become very clear, and when it does, you are not going to like what you see. Don’t blame me, I am not the artist, the artists of this picture sit on the city commission. All I am doing is putting the pieces together so that you can see what they painted.

Why in the word are the powers that be approve warehouse space right off of the new interchange? The city would benefit MUCH more by being more judicious to what is built in terms off office and retail space. 109 has tons of space and is the warehouse alley designate. Use it.
The local yokels that sit on the city council MUST go. It is embarrassing and painful to be a citizen here right now.

mayor elam referred kathy to hatton for the clerks position too…
bty, the ‘warehouse space’ is not allowed per zoning. manufacturing is… as in more local jobs
